Visit to Leesville Road High School

Janet Dunderdale, Debra Clayton and I traveled to Leesville Road High School, in Wake County, to check out a very innovative partnership between and English 9 and CTE Business teacher. Ms Stevenson and Mr. Hardy teach combination class referred by many as a "skinny". Ms. Stevenson, English Teacher, and Mr. Hardy, Computer Applications teacher work with these students for 45 minutes each during a 90 minute block. Students use the computer technology and English content to extend overall learning and completion of assignments. The class is a year long class. The cross curricular plan has been very successful. In January, I want to visit the school again with an English teacher and Principal. This is a very neat program.
