I had an opportunity to attend one of the three research and community engagement project aimed at identifying opportunities for growth of local agriculture, local food, and the local economy in Warren County. The project is sponsored by the Nicholas School of the Environment at Duke University, the SPARC (Sustained Participatory Action Research Collaboration) program at UNC-Chapel Hill, and Working Landscapes. Carla Norwood and Gabe Cummings shared their research with the group. The group also participated in a small group discussion and then presented to the group. I attended the Thursday, August 11th session at the old North Warren High School. Great job!
