June 25th School Board Work Session

There were several information items on the meeting agenda but the item drawing the most attention was the decision on whether or not to close South Warren Elementary School. The board voted unanimously to close the school Check out the pictures below.

School Board Chair, Ebony Talley Brame called the meeting to order.

Several parents spoke during the public comments portion of the meeting concerning the movement of a Splash program teacher from Northside to Vaughan.

A few members of the South Warren community requested one last time not to close South Warren Elementary School. 

Dr. Frank Polakiewicz reviewed new board policies with the board for them to act on them at the July meeting. 

Delores Pulliam, Chief Finance Officer, discussed budget amendments with the board.

The board voted to close South Warren Elementary School

Dr.Mason presented information on a new course offering that was proposed by Warren New Tech High School.

Dr. Whitaker provided additional information concerning the bus driver shortage and possible solutions.
