Maurice Ashley Visits Warren Early College High School

Maurice Ashley lives his passion. Through his love for chess, he not only made history as the first African-American International Grand master in the annals of the game, but he has translated his love to others as a three-time national championship coach, two-time author, ESPN commentator, iPhone app designer, puzzle inventor, and motivational speaker.  Mr. Ashley met with students at Warren Early College this week. He played chess with a member of the chess club. With his back turned, he demonstrated just how masterful at the game is is. He also provided a motivational message to the students.

Stacy Woodhouse, Director of Economic Development moves the chess pieces as Mr. Ashley directs him to move.
