Ernie Conner, Director of Technology/CTE is a member of the team Warren County team that is reviewing RFP's to bring broadband Internet to the county. This is exciting because this would be a huge asset to the county and for our students. The meetings have been held virtually using a video conference platform.

Custodial Staff at Work
Even though schools are closed, the Warren County Schools custodial staff is working hard to clean the school buildings and prepare them for the student's return whenever that may be.
Food Lion Gift Card Giveaway
Food Lion Partnered with the Warren County School's Food Giveaway program today at Warren County High School. Food Lion provided Gift Cards to the first 500 cars that picked up food. THANK YOU FOOD LION FOR HELPING OUR LOCAL COMMUNITY during this time.
April Board Meeting
The Warren County Schools Board of Education held its April meeting at Warren County Middle School. Because of the state-mandated restrictions, the meeting was streamed and the crowd was limited to ten people in one location. Another room was set up to provide additional people to attend. The meeting was also streamed live on the website and social media. The WCMS staff cleaned the areas according to the state guidelines to help prevent the spread of the virus.

Vance Granville Community College Offers Technology Classes to Businesses
The Small Business Center at Vance Granville Community College offered several Technology classes to business owners in Warren County and surrounding areas. Several staff members in Warren County Schools attended these virtual sessions. TableTop Media provided the instruction for the Doing Business Remotely Google Suite class.
Instructional Packets Picked Up for Students
Warren County Schools provided learning packets for students while they are at home during this pandemic. Parents picked up the student's packets for the students to learn from home. Also, 8th-grade parents returned their high school selection packets to the school during that time.
Broadband RFP Review
Ernie Conner, Director of Technology/CTE is a member of the team that is working with Warren County as they look for partners to provide broadband Internet for Warren County. The committee met this week to review two RFP's that were submitted.
The group reviews RFP presentations from two potential vendors that may be able to provide broadband Internet to the entire county.

Northside 8th Grade Student Visits to the High Schools
Northside K-8 School's 8th-grade students toured each high school this week. Students and staff at each high school will provide information and answer questions concerning what is offered at their particular school.
