Warren Bell, Principal at Warren County High, Angela Richardson, English 1 Teacher at Warren County High School and I traveled to Leesville Road High School in Wake County to review their English 1/Microsoft IT Academy Companion class. We visited with the English Teacher, Ms. Stevenson, the IT Academy Teacher, Mr. Hardy and the students particpating. After talking with the teachers and the students, we all agreed that it would be a great program for Warren County High School. I contacted the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction today and we have been approved to be a pilot program for next year! Students use the computer technology and English content to extend overall learning and completion of assignments. The class is a year long class and the students get a credit for each part of the combo class. Students in this program will have an opportunity to get their Microsoft Office 2010 Specialist certification. Stay tuned for more information soon!
