Hearing to Discuss South Warren Elementary School Closing

A public hearing was held last week to discuss the closing of South Warren Elementary School. The school has some serious issues with the condition of the heating system in the building. A second meeting has been scheduled and the Warren County Board of Education will make a decision at a special called meeting in June.

Dr. Frank Polakiewicz, Assistant Superintendent for Administration, provides information on why this school may need to close. 


Director of Maintenance, Michael Perry discusses the heating system at South Warren and how much it would cost to repair it. 



Micheal Kilian, Engineer with Kilian Engineering, explains that it would cost over one million dollars to fix South Warren's heating system to last for several years.

Board Chair, Talley explains that the board will consider all options and solutions before making a decision.
